Selling your boat?
We hope you’ll decide to let us help you sell your boat. If you do choose us, we would like you to know the basic elements that would apply in our relationship. A summary of the process, presented below, outlines the main steps we would be taking in selling your boat. However, this description is far from comprehensive. If needed, we will take any additional action that may be necessary to ensure completion of the sale.
- Working with you
We will look at your boat (distance permitting), noting your equipment, its condition, and its overall appearance, and then do some background research, to facilitate an accurate estimate. We will give you the facts plainly, as they are. We will outline the costs and fees from the start and work to get your boat sold on a "no-sale, no-fee" basis.
- Taking care of you
We respect and value our customers, and we express this attitude in all aspects of our relationship.
How we proceed:
After having inspected your boat (when possible), and following background research, we will give you our estimate on value and pricing. If you accept our terms, we can advise you on presenting the boat, photographing it and detailing it. If the boat is in our vicinity, we will do this ourselves.
Your boat will then be listed and advertised on the Aegean Yacht Brokers web site and on several other internationally well known portals. On occasion, we will also advertise in the marine press to reach the appropriate client base for your boat.
We will show or describe your boat, presenting it in the best possible light.
We will discuss with you regularly the progress we are making, and if we think we need to change our strategy, we’ll get your approval in advance for any changes we propose
We will inform you of any offers received and handle negotiations on your behalf, in order to reach the best price. If the offer is acceptable to you, we will handle all paperwork, including payment of deposit monies, and move to a legally valid sale.
We will assist the buyer with advice and, when asked, offer recommendations on financing, surveyors, insurance, sea trials, delivery, berthing and maintenance.
On successful completion of a survey or sea trial (if asked for), we will collect, on your behalf, any remaining monies owing; validate ownership, and prepare the final documents. A date will be set for the completion of the sale in agreement with you, at which time you will receive payment, less any fees due.
We will definitely make it our job to complete the transaction in a smooth and transparent way for both the seller and the buyer.
Please do not hesitate to contact us, if you have any further questions.
